  • This article discusses and compares findings from two cross-sectional studies (N = 25,302 and N = 21,201) that explored the links between inner peace and character strengths, and revealed that the strengths individuals believe to be important for fostering inner peace can differ from the strengths that actually correlate with measures of inner peace. Findings also indicate that, hope, zest, and gratitude are likely primary facets of inner peace, while spirituality and forgiveness may act as secondary facets for inner peace (Chérif, Niemiec, & Wood, 2022). • This article highlights a promising integration of two robust fields that are largely unexplored together – peace psychology and character strengths. It deconstructs peace into levels (e.g., inner/personal peace, relational/interpersonal peace, intragroup peace, intergroup peace, etc.) and details ways that character strengths can increase harmony and decrease conflict across levels (Niemiec, 2022).
